My name is Anna and I am a fourth-year bachelor student of the Built Environment, aiming to pursue architecture and urbanism. My interest in this field stems from a lifelong passion for art, design and creating. From a young age, I have been fascinated by craftsmanship and the creation of objects and buildings, expressing the relationship between creativity and technology. I’ve always been drawn to the value of aesthetics and the subtle beauty that surrounds us, a passion that is reflected in my love for architectural details and materialization. Thus, my choice of study came naturally and I have never looked back. The last years were filled with hard work and ambition.
At this university, lessons and opportunities seem endless. After becoming more active at our study association, I learned that AnArchi enriches the academic journey and student life. Through the Activity, Promotion, and Lustrum committees, I was able to meet the great network of people that makes our association so wonderful, whilst having the opportunity to organize inspiring events in teams of enthusiastic students. This year at AnArchi brought me more than I could have imagined; It taught me that this is a place where the ambitious student is central, prioritizing our common passion for architecture and urbanism to stimulate personal and academic development whilst embracing the lovely joys of student life. Therefore, I am beyond excited to contribute to the association on a deeper level as member of the board, fully experiencing all the features this association has to offer.
Within the 15th board, my functions will be Chairman and Commissioner of Lustrum. As Chairman, I find it important to keep an overview of what happens at our association and to become a contact point for members. My goal is to ensure that every member feels heard and valued, while also guiding our association with a focus on efficiency, transparency, and collaboration. As for the Commissioner of Lustrum, this third Lustrum year brings a unique opportunity to celebrate the existence of AnArchi. Organized by our all-round Lustrum Committee, we will have a large variety of activities that cater to the diverse interests of our community. I am deeply honoured to fulfil these roles and excited to dedicate the upcoming year to the board. Together, we will make the 15th year of AnArchi an unforgettable one.
I am Kalina and I am at the start of my fourth and last year of my bachelor’s degree. My interests cover more areas than I can count, but my deepest passion lies between setting my creative ideas loose and aiming to improve people’s lives. The only thing I knew for certain before embarking on the adventure to study in a foreign country was that I wanted to channel my energy into making the world a better place. The path of my TU/e education was waving left and right because I was on a quest to find all the little things that set my soul on fire within the broad study and career possibilities so I could build up a set of skills to help me tackle the challenges of tomorrow. Nevertheless, I find it extremely important to challenge the boundaries of my creativity and develop my skills in a fun way.
I was active in a few committees during my first year, completed a board year at COSMOS in my second year and actively shifted my focus to AnArchi and CHEOPS in my third year, where I took part in numerous activities and a variety of committees. My highlight – the Archiprint committee, showed me how to balance my love for structuring and organizing with a creative pursuit and I got inspired to take things a step further by dedicating next year to the association and its members.
In the upcoming year, I will fulfil the roles of Secretary and Vice-Chairman. My main tasks will involve minute taking, administration of members and email correspondence, but will not be limited to those only. I am looking forward even more to developing a new set of skills, expanding my knowledge, creating memories with the new and active members, participating in the organization of a variety of activities and dedicating my full attention to the association.
My name is Finn and I am currently in my fourth year of my bachelor’s, graduating in February. After this I will probably directly continue with my master’s in Eindhoven as well. I came to study at TU/e, because of the technical part of this bachelor’s. However, during my studies I discovered that I have more interest in the architecture and urbanism field. But, as I am both fascinated by architecture as well as urbanism, I am still uncertain what master-track I will do exactly. Within the study, I really enjoy doing projects, both individually and in groups, as I am very driven to create a good product and end results. I will also be using that passion during my board year to continue the good work provided by the previous boards, as a Treasurer and Commissioner of Professional Relations.
Being a Treasurer will involve managing the finances of the whole association, and advising the other (board) members on their expenses. I am looking forward to learning all there is to know about running an association as AnArchi financially, so I will be more knowledgeable in this field. I am also looking forward to be in contact, and to organize activities with companies and organizations in the field of architecture and urbanism, as Commissioner of Professional Relations. This way I will learn more about the professional field, and build up my network for the future. Also, I will do my best to keep AnArchi’s current partners and find new ones, with a greater focus to the field of urbanism as the division of partners could be more equal after the merger with VIA. Additionally, the Bamboo Challenge will be held again this coming year, and I will look into the possibility of making it a yearly activity.
My name is Ilonka, I am 22 years old and I will be finishing my Bachelor in the Built Environment this year. I have always been fascinated by the built environment around me and have always loved being creative. When I was younger, I used to dream about becoming an architect. When starting here in Eindhoven however, I soon found out that the architecture track did not suit me. This has made me feel quite lost in what I wanted to do and which track I wanted to follow. Joining AnArchi’s activities and excursions helped me discover my passion for urbanism. And after the amazing Project Hopping weekend, I was hooked and became an active AnArchi member.
As Commissioner of Activities, together with the activity committee, I will be organizing activities and excursions where students can discover and develop their passion for architecture and urbanism, both in formal and informal settings. By collaborating with students, teachers and companies, I strive to provide high-quality and unique activities that appeal to many students. I hope the activities will also be a base for connection between students, and thus a base for the community of AnArchi.
In addition to the activities, I will also be Commissioner of the Study Trip. I am very excited to organize a trip filled with activities that explore the international field of architecture and urbanism while striving to keep sustainability at the forefront.
Hey! I am Beril Bilican, a second-year master’s student studying to be an architect. I am from Turkey, where I completed my bachelor’s degree. During my studies, my love for architecture and art has grown unexpectedly. Therefore, after my bachelor’s degree, I decided to extend my studies to learn even more about architecture. Now, here I am at Eindhoven University of Technology, learning more about my passion and meeting great people.
I believe architecture is something we do with passion, and without passion, its importance can be overlooked. AnArchi offers a space where people come together to share this value. After getting accustomed to living in the Netherlands and studying at TU/e, I decided to enhance my love for architecture, and AnArchi was the way to go for me. I believe that AnArchi is a great platform to share interests and accomplish meaningful things. Therefore, I will be the Commissioner of Promotion and Commissioner of Education next year. I believe this is a great opportunity. I attended some of the activities that AnArchi offered last year, and I even regret not participating in more.
As Commissioner of Promotion, my main tasks are to promote the activities and opportunities that AnArchi has to offer. My main aim is to create a social presence for AnArchi, allowing people to learn more about us and interact with what we can offer. I am really excited about the role of Commissioner of Promotion. Since getting involved with AnArchi, I have met great people and experienced different sides of architecture, and I am eager to showcase this. I am also excited to continue the great work done by previous board members and Commissioner of Promotion. Additionally, as the new Commissioner of Education, my main aim is to create a bridge between education and students. This way, we can improve ourselves academically. I aim to create a space where everyone can improve with clear communication with the educational staff at TU/e. I am thrilled to be a part of AnArchi and excited for everything that is coming this year!
My name is Marija Bolšakova, and I am a third-year student specializing in architecture and urban design. While I have found my passion in architecture, I am also an artist and illustrator for print magazines. I am deeply inspired by art, design, literature and typography – therefore, by exploring the intersections between these fields and the built environment, I aim to deepen my understanding of architecture and the value I can offer as a future professional. Choosing to study architecture felt natural to me; in a world of such instability, I feel a responsibility to create safe urban spaces that respond to the needs of a changing society. I am particularly fascinated by sensory design and its application in public urban spaces.
For several years, I have been an active volunteer with local organizations in my hometown. I participated in international projects, organized art events, and, together with a team of writers and illustrators, published a youth magazine. Our goal was to create a media platform for young people in Estonia to critically engage with societal issues and express their thoughts freely, without needing professional experience. This experience inspired me to join the board of AnArchi in my third year of studies. Within my contribution, I aim to engage more people in architectural discussions and strengthen the relationships between students and professionals.
In the 15th board of AnArchi, I will be taking on the role of Commissioner of Archiprint. This year, I’m excited to connect with new and interesting people in our field of study, explore the professional aspects of the discipline, and put in my best effort to organize new editions of Archiprint. By inspiring and supporting each other within our committee, I hope to spend a productive and fulfilling year ahead.
