We are excited to announce that Drawing Abroad is back, and this year, we are heading to Aachen, Germany – a city rich in architectural history, intricate details, and spatial diversity.
Do you enjoy sketching but struggle to find the time outside of your studies? This weekend offers a chance to step away from the rush of academic deadlines and immerse yourself in drawing only!
Hélène Aarts and AnArchi, in collaboration with Robin Schaeverbeke, professor at KU Leuven, invite you to join a weekend dedicated to exploring Aachen through the lens of drawing.
From May 14th to 16th, we will walk the streets of Aachen, drawing boards in hand exploring different parts of the city. Throughout the weekend, we will engage in structured drawing exercises that provoke creative expression.
This year’s theme, “Sequence of History”, invites you to observe and capture how time unfolds within the urban fabric of Aachen. Through drawing, we will trace layers of history—from Roman foundations to medieval structures and contemporary interventions—exploring how each era leaves its mark on the city.
Participation fee: €100 (includes travel, accommodation & museum entries)
Transport: By bus and train
Deadline to register: April 8th, 23:59
Limited spots are available! In case of too many subscriptions, there will be a draw
